In Unit 5 we learned about the States of Consciousness. This means
that we learned about all types of Consciousness i.e.: R.E.M,
Non-R.E.M. We also learned about Sleep Disorders (i.e:Insomnia, Sleep
Apnea, Narcolepsy), Dreams and Dreaming, and Psychoactive Drugs.
There
are so many different types of drugs that effect the brain and the way
it works. There are 4 drug classes Stimulants, Depressants, Opioids,
Hallucinogens. each class has a group of drugs and how they effect you with them. There is also a lot of ways to alter our consciousness with out drugs such as Hypnosis, Meditation, and Sensory Deprivation.

Unit 4
In Unit 4 we learned about Sensing and Perceiving what this means is that we learned about how we see things and the way our eyes work as well as how we hear things and the way our ears work. My favorite part about this Unit is the Illusions we learned about I have always liked optical illusions but now that i know more about them it very different from what I knew before.
We also had to each write a Children's Book on either The Visual or The Auditory Systems, I choose to do mine on the Visual System because I think that it is a lot cooler than the Auditory. There is so many different parts to the eyes and the way they work that it made for a very interesting topic to read about and write about.

Ethic on psychology
we were made to write a 2-3 page essay on the ethics of 3 different studies. the studies were The Milgram experiment The Little Albert experiment and The Blue eyes vs. Brown Eyes experiment all of these studies had something unethical about them but the two that i believe were the worst are the Milgram and little Albert, they were cruel and unethical harming another human is wrong and should never be done for the benefit of science or entertainment. the blue vs. Brown was a lesson on how not discriminate against anyone and that to me is a great lesson to teach a child.

Unit 3 Discussion
So for our unit 3 Discussion we had to read a paragraph and answer a few questions. The paragraph was about a dog attacking and mauling a child, then we were asked what breed we thought the dog was and if we would be surprised to find out that it was a pit bull. I, for one do not believe that pit bulls are just born aggressive but that they are trained to attack or are severely mistreated so they tend to become that way, now I'm not saying that a pit could never be born frail but its normally due to inbreeding which causes problems in the puppies minds. I feel the same way when it comes to Nature vs. Nurture we are the products of our environments.
